Experience the raw beauty of Sakleshpur with riverside camping at KaatiKaadu. Bring your own tent or use ours. Bonfires, stargazing, and nature sounds included.

There are two ways to sleep in the Western Ghats. You can sleep near nature, behind a glass window. Or you can sleep in nature, separated only by a thin layer of canvas.

At KaatiKaadu, we offer one of the most authentic camping experiences in Sakleshpur. Located right on the banks of the Vanagoor Stream, our campsite is for those who want to trade luxury for a front-row seat to the wilderness.

The Location: Riverfront Real Estate

In a hotel, the "River View" suite is usually the most expensive. Here, it’s where you pitch your tent.

Our campsite is situated on a flat, grassy bank directly adjacent to the perennial stream that bisects the estate.

  • The Soundtrack: You fall asleep to the sound of rushing water and wake up to the call of Malabar Whistling Thrushes.
  • The Vibe: This is off-grid living. No concrete, no fans, just the cool breeze of the Ghats.

BYOT or Rent-A-Tent?

We cater to both hardcore campers and first-timers.

1. The "Glamp-Lite" (We Provide)

Don't have gear? No problem.

  • What you get: We provide weather-proof tents, mattresses, and bedding.
  • The Setup: Arrive to a fully pitched tent ready for you. Just throw your bag inside and head to the campfire.

2. The Overlander / BYOT (Bring Your Own Tent)

For the purists, bikers, and overlanders who travel with their own rigs.

  • The Pitch: You can rent just the "ground." Find your perfect spot by the water and set up your own gear.
  • The Perks: You get access to all the estate facilities—clean washrooms, the dining area, and the river trek—while sleeping in your own familiar setup.

The Campfire Ritual

Camping isn't complete without a fire. Because our campsite is secluded from the main cottages, the evenings here are magical. We set up a "Huddle Campfire" where guests often gather to swap stories.

  • Roast corn or marshmallows.
  • Watch the fireflies (in season).
  • Enjoy a simple, hot meal delivered from the KaatiKaadu Kitchen.

Unzip your tent to this view every morning.

Practical Tips for Campers

  1. Washrooms: We have clean, designated washrooms and shower blocks for campers nearby. You don't have to dig a hole!
  2. Power: While the tents are off-grid, we have charging points available in each pod to ensure your devices stay powered.
  3. Safety: The campsite is fenced and secure within the estate, so you are safe from large wildlife while still feeling "wild."
