If there is one view that defines Sakleshpur, it is Patla Betta.
Often overshadowed by the more famous "Bisle Viewpoint," Patla Betta has quietly become the favorite secret of locals and off-road enthusiasts. It offers something rare: a complete, 360-degree panoramic view of the Western Ghats without the concrete barricades and tourist crowds.
But getting there is an adventure in itself. Here is your ultimate guide to conquering the peak.
Where is Patla Betta?
Patla Betta is located in the Bisle Ghat region. The best part? If you are staying at KaatiKaadu, you are practically at the base camp.
We are one of the closest stays to the peak, located just 3.7 km to 4.1 km away. While other tourists have to drive an hour from Sakleshpur town to reach the starting point, our guests can wake up, have coffee, and be at the trail in minutes.

The Climb: Prepare to Trek
While the journey to the base of the peak involves a thrilling off-road track, reaching the actual summit of Patla Betta requires a trek.
- The 4x4 Approach: The trail to the base is rugged and demands high ground clearance. If you don't have a 4x4, KaatiKaadu offers a guided trip in our estate’s Bolero Camper to get you to the starting point of the hike.
- The Trek (The Sweat): You have to trek to reach the summit. The hike is spectacular—the air gets cooler as you ascend, and the silence of the forest takes over. It’s a moderate trek, suitable for beginners, but be mindful of leeches during the monsoon season.
The Reward: Why Go?
The summit of Patla Betta offers a vantage point that feels like the edge of the world.
- Sunset: This is arguably the best sunset spot in the district. Watching the sun dip behind the layers of the Pushpagiri mountain range is a core memory waiting to happen.
- The Wind: Be prepared—it gets windy up there. Hold onto your hats (literally).
