Imagine this: You are kilometers deep into the Western Ghats. The only sounds are the chirping of Malabar Parakeets and the rush of the Vanagoor stream. Then, you turn a corner, and the air changes. It’s not just the smell of rain on dry earth; it’s a faint, nostalgic whiff of 2T oil and old leather.
Welcome to the KaatiKaadu Vintage Motor Gallery—arguably Karnataka’s most secluded, off-grid automotive time capsule.

For years, KaatiKaadu has been known as a sanctuary for nature lovers and a technical playground for off-roaders. But we have recently unveiled a new secret that has been decades in the making: a private museum dedicated to the golden era of Indian motoring.
Chrome Meets Bamboo: An Immersive Design
Curated by our founder and avid petrolhead, Dhanush D., this gallery isn't just a collection of machines; it is an architectural statement.
Most museums are sterile, air-conditioned boxes. Ours is different. The gallery is housed in a unique, open-concept bamboo cottage designed to let the Western Ghats in. There are no concrete walls separating you from the jungle. Instead, the backdrop to every chrome fender and fuel tank is the lush, mist-covered hills of Sakleshpur.
It is an immersive experience where the industrial beauty of the machines contrasts perfectly with the organic textures of bamboo and nature.
A Time Capsule on Two Wheels
Stepping inside, you are transported back to a time when riding was mechanical, visceral, and loud. The collection features iconic legends that once ruled Indian roads, including:
- The RD350: The undisputed "King" of the streets, famously known as the Yamaha Rajdoot 350.
- The Yezdi & Jawa Classics: The cult favorites that defined the "Forever Bike" era.
- Lamby & Bajaj Chetak: A nod to the scooter nostalgia of the 70s and 80s.
- The RX100 & 135: The legends that need no introduction.

The "Ride & Dine" Experience
We didn't just build a gallery; we built a hangout. The museum is seamlessly attached to the KaatiKaadu Kitchen, our on-site cafeteria.
This layout allows for a unique sensory experience. You can sit back with a hot cup of local Malnad coffee and a plate of crispy Akki Roti, all while admiring a pristine Jawa just a few feet away. It’s the ultimate "Breakfast Run" destination—good food, great views, and legendary bikes.
The technical terrain around the gallery makes it a perfect stop for adventure riders.
This gallery is now open for Day Visitors and Touring Groups. Whether you are on a Sunday breakfast run from Bangalore or an international overlander crossing the subcontinent, the gallery serves as the perfect waypoint.
- Take a Private Tour: Get up close with the machines and hear the stories behind their restoration.
- The View: Enjoy your meal with a panoramic view of the Western Ghats on one side and automotive history on the other.
- The Ride: The journey here via Bisle Ghat Road is an experience in itself—winding tarmac, mist-covered hills, and zero traffic.
